Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) Grants Program
Program Overview
Our Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) program fosters scientific innovation by supporting independent research that aligns with our medical and scientific priorities. Through this program, we support research aligned with our commitment to advancing knowledge, generating real-world evidence, and improving patient outcomes. On this page, you can learn more about our current research priorities, explore available resources, and submit a proposal for consideration. We welcome thoughtful, evidence-based study concepts that complement our internal research efforts.
Karius Evidence Priorities
Academic or clinical researchers should focus scientific studies on at least one of following Karius Evidence Priorities:
Health Economics
Determining cost effectiveness of use of mcfDNA metagenomic sequencing
Sample Type
Research on plasma and BAL fluid (BALF) sample types with current priority focus on studies assessing testing using BALF.
Outpatient Testing
Immunocompromised (IC) patients with infections in the outpatient setting.
Patient Subtype
IC patients, especially solid organ transplant recipients
Fundamental Science
Understanding the fundamental science behind microbial cell-free DNA (mcfDNA)
