Position Summary
We are looking for a high potential Sr. Manager, FP&A to join the Finance team as a key team member of our quickly growing team and organization. The Sr. Manager, FP&A will be responsible for driving implementation and maintenance of core planning processes including, planning tools and analytics, reporting, and ad hoc analysis. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, technically proficient person with a strong desire for continuous improvement in your day-to-day work and self. This is a highly visible role where you will interact with senior leaders and the finance team to meet the company’s goals and objectives.

Reports to:    Sr. Director, Finance and Controller 

Location:  Redwood City, CA 

Primary Responsibilities
•  Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, including management reporting, accruals reviews, variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning.
•  Be a trusted business partner to functional leaders and the executive leadership team by providing analytical insights and drive business decisions through in-depth analysis, modeling, and communication.
•  Identify, develop, monitor, and articulate key operating metrics on a regular basis, and mitigate business risks.
•  Lead FP&A activities such as quarterly business reviews and new product financial analysis.
•  Conduct peer group comparable benchmarking analysis as necessary in support of key business metrics and objectives.
•  Prepare budget to actual reports by department level and corporate level. Partner with leaders to understand key drivers in the analysis of variance to plan.
•  Continuously assess opportunities to foster collaboration and automation that can adapt to our evolving business needs.
•  Identify and assist with system implementation and enhancements to financial reporting.
•  Champion other ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned or as self-identified areas for improvements.

Physical Requirements
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office, lab or clinical environment. 

Position Requirements
•  BS/BA in Finance or Accounting, preferably with an MBA, or CPA certification.
•  Minimum of 7+ years of FP&A experience in pharmaceutical/life sciences/diagnostics.
•  Demonstrate history of driving process improvement initiatives with a clear ROI/organizational benefit.
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•  A proactive, independent self-starter with passion for teamwork and collaboration.
•  Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create and operate complex financial and scenario models.
•  Strict attention to detail with strong quantitative, analytical problem-solving skills.
•  Strong systems experience, preferably in Adaptive Insight.
•  Experience in a fast-paced or high growth company is required.
•  Strong understanding of accounting and US GAAP.
•  Successfully influenced others through your data-driven analysis and strong interpersonal skills.
•  Experience building strong relationships with the internal management teams in a high growth environment.
