Position Summary
We are building and operating a unique technology stack of cloud infrastructure, services, APIs, and AI-driven data analytics pipelines to deliver life-saving results via effective experiences for healthcare providers in the highly complex infectious disease landscape. We believe the success of Karius products is driven by our unique technology, the elegance of the software and infrastructure, and optimized business operation processes. 

As the Senior IT Manager, you have the opportunity to envision and build an scalable IT infrastructure and operation in support of this impactful mission. This role is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure development and operation including network connectivity, service desk, SaaS applications, security and compliance.

This is a fully hands-on technical leadership role with potential for people management responsibilities in future. If you are a self-starter technical leader who can analyze the business needs, evaluate tools and technologies, build and rollout processes and systems, and provide support for your creation, this is the perfect role for you. People who have been away from the technical details for a while, require a big team to operate or not interested in rolling up their sleeves to do the day-to-day work will not be successful in this role.

Responsibilities Include
- Develops and communicates a vision and roadmap for an optimized and productive business operation at Karius based on the business objectives.
- Evaluates, recommends and drives the implementation and rollout of technology and tools based on the defined roadmap.
- Is responsible for operating a variety of business systems such as communications and collaboration, Finance, HR etc. 
- Leads the efforts across the company to standardize, harmonize and automate business processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Owns the system IT systems security and compliance. Partnering with the Security Officer, develops and manages security controls, disaster recovery planning, and implements technology training, IT & business policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable security standards including preparing all required compliance documentation for IT related audits, security assessments, and vulnerability remediation.
- Partnering with the engineering and R&D teams, identifies and implements solutions to facilitate the product release process.
- Develops, tracks and reports operational SLA and metrics.
- Monitors IT system operations, manages and resolves incidents according to the defined SLA Hires, leads and mentors talented IT professionals.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with service providers and vendors to manage 3rd party systems and services.
- Develops and leads a service desk process to support on-site and remote users.
- Manages IT budget and expenses.

Travel: No travel required.

Physical Requirements
- Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.

Position Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical field.
- 10+ years of technical IT experience, including 3+ years of IT leadership.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols and hands on experience configuring and operating Network switches, routers, firewalls, Wifi access points etc. 
- Working knowledge and hands on experience with implementing security and risk management standards and frameworks (such as NIST, ISO 27001, GRC and HITRUST) and leading an incident monitoring and response operation.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressive responsibilities for testing, deploying, and supporting a variety of business applications (on-site and SaaS).
- Proven track record of rolling out and operating change management and user / customer facing support processes.
- Working knowledge and administration experience with communication and collaboration tools (e.g. G-Suite, Office 365), customer service and ticketing tools (e.g. Atlassian Suite, Zendesk), log management and SIEM (e.g. Solarwinds, Splunk), VoIP and Teleconferencing systems, identity management and directories (Okta, Google or Azure), enterprise level backup and recovery tools (e.g. Druva, Rubrik).
- Experience in healthcare or life sciences industry, and familiarity with related regulations, is highly desirable.
- ITIL, CISM, CISSP and CISA certifications are a big plus.
