Position Summary
Karius is operating at the edge of what is now known to be possible in infectious disease diagnostics. As the IT Systems Administrator you will be the dedicated Information Technology support in the company that is expanding and growing. You will be responsible for all new hire set-up, desktop support, asset tracking, systems administration and troubleshooting.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on new technologies, platforms, consumer facing products, and/or enterprise systems. You’ll be exposed to new science and medicine on a weekly basis and be part of a vibrant collaborative environment that changing the world for the better.

Reports to           Software Architect
Location               Redwood City, CA

·         Desktop support for Windows and Mac users
·         Onboarding support, include setting up desks, swag, etc.
·         Provisioning and managing new computers, printers, and other devices
·         Asset tracking and enforcement of company policies
·         Administration of GSuite, Gmail, Gdrive, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Office365, RingCentral, Zoom and dozens of other cloud services
·         Mobile Device Management
·         Generating and renewing X.509 certificates
·         Setting up VPN access
·         Basic network and wireless support
·         Monitoring system logs
·         Maintaining the IT calendar
·         Responding to IT tickets

Travel:             No travel required

Physical Requirements: 
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Work is generally performed in an office, lab or clinical environment.

Position Requirements:
·         Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, preferred
·         2+ years’ experience as a Level I or II IT Systems Support
·         General familiarity of the networking and compute platforms in use at Karius
·         Strong technological understanding and trends
·         Experience in a fast-paced, growth environment
·         Comfortable working with all levels of employees
·         Understanding of DNS, SMTP, HTTP protocols
·         Understanding of best security practices
