Position Summary
The Director, HR Business Partner will be responsible for establishing and driving the efficient and effective delivery of key Human Resources employee life-cycle projects. You will be the dedicated business partner, working with all functions with the company as a core partner in helping them meet their business initiatives and cultivating an engaging culture as we scale the business. This is an exciting opportunity to be a critical member of the HR team that will enable the company's growth. This position is a highly visible role working with leaders in a culture of transformation, which will also require hands-on operational execution.

Primary Responsibilities
•  Act as a trusted strategic business partner and collaborator in building Karius’s pursuit by maximizing the value of our greatest asset - our employees. 
•  Establish and deliver thoughtful, robust and effective HR approaches to all aspects of people management that builds trust and credibility with the business.
•  Partner with people leaders to invest in our human capital to align with company initiatives, values, strategies to enable business objectives.
•  Provide strategic counsel to key functions and management in the areas of organizational effectiveness, talent and performance management, compliance, culture, engagement and change management. 
•  Contribute to the organization’s goals of being an employer of choice by collecting feedback from employees and managers and working with leadership to address concerns. 
•  Act as an organizational coach, who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners to maximize team performance. 
•  Partner with functional leaders and hiring managers on proper resource and workforce planning, including identification of recruitment and selection strategies.
•  Support high growth and infrastructure by helping to identify talent gaps and development areas across all functions and other areas as the business grows.
•  Contribute to creating solutions in such areas of organizational models, talent and career development, talent acquisition, and total rewards.
•  Identity training needs for functional areas and provide recommendations and resources to fulfill needs. Partner with functional leaders to design and implement team workshops and business offsites events. 
•  Champion Karius’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice initiatives and support the programs impacting the organization.
•  Maintains a strong understanding of the business to influence effectively.
•  Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers regarding HR practices, HRIS systems, employee relations and career development.

Physical Requirements
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office, lab or clinical environment. 

Position Requirements
•  Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources Management or related discipline. MBA or HRCI / SHRM certification, a plus.
•  8+ years progressive Human Resources experience, with 3+ years as a HR Business Partner.
Life Sciences (Biotech, Medical Device or Diagnostics) experience preferred.
•  Proven experience to work at a strategic level at the same time as having depth of experience in multiple HR disciplines including organization design, talent development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, recognition, DE&I, and coaching.
•  Experience partnering with teams in enterprise wide initiatives in a fast growth environment, including skill in partnering with other members of the HR team.
•  Proven ability to form strong partnerships, trust and credibility with employees at all levels within the organization.
•  Ability to formulate and influence solutions and recommendations that resolve complex organizational dynamics to provide a healthy work environment and maintain a great place to work culture. 
•  Strong business acumen and proven ability to integrate HR and business strategies; ability to make thoughtful & data-driven decisions that consider individual and business needs.
•  Strong knowledge of employment and labor relations laws, including conducting and administering performance improvement plans, investigations and exit interviews.
