Position Summary
We are looking for an outstanding Clinician to lead in the design and execution of our pivotal clinical trials. You will provide strategic leadership in developing the evidence necessary to achieve adoption, reimbursement and regulatory approval. You will also provide medical and scientific support to sites throughout study execution and support our publication strategy efforts.

You will provide medical leadership in cross-functional teams that include the commercial, clinical, operations, and product teams as we build future products to solve some of the toughest problems in infectious diseases.

Location: Redwood City, CA

Primary Responsibilities
•  Plans, designs, and publishes pivotal clinical validation, clinical utility, and health economic studies to facilitate adoption of the Karius Test in the infectious disease market.
•  Architect clinical development strategy with executive team.
•  Provide clinical guidance into future product development and enhancements.
•  Provide medical and/or scientific expertise and leadership to the project team during the lifecycle of study.
•  Generate reports and data to aid in regulatory submissions as well as generate and/or review publications, posters, and scientific presentations.
•  Provide medical leadership in all grant requests for support of Investigator Initiated Studies.

Travel: Travel required 10% - 20%.

Physical Requirements
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. 

Position Requirements
•  Doctoral-level degree in the Life Sciences (MD or DO), an equivalent combination of education (Ph.d.) and experience may be considered.
•  Minimum 5 years professional experience in a clinical setting and/or industry related to infectious disease.
•  Successful design, execution, and publication of at least one multi-center prospective clinical utility or health economics focused study in infectious disease.
•  Expertise in scientific and clinical data review and interpretation.
•  Track-record of producing outstanding publications, clinical study reports, and poster presentations.
•  Project leadership and management skills.

•  Outstanding communication skills including public speaking, written communication.
•  Demonstrated ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment focused on company-level goals.
