Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and have responsibility for both strategic and tactical finance initiatives. As a key member of the leadership team, this highly visible individual will provide effective advice and strategic support to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on company strategies. The Chief Financial Officer will be directly involved in complex business transactions, financing activities, accounting practices and procedures, corporate compliance, controllership, financial planning & analysis, operations, treasury, and tax to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

·       Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
·       Manage the finance team, including the set-up of an organizational structure and business processes adequate for achieving the company’s goals and objectives. Provide team member with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities of individuals.
·       Oversee preparation of company accounting records and controls necessary to maintain auditable records.
·       Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.
·       Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/systems/strategies.
·       Develop or enhance, implement and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization.
·       Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to complex business challenges.
·       Continual improvement of the budgeting process. Educate and partner with department heads to obtain forecasting, accruals and variance analysis and identify tools necessary for improved reporting and control.
·       Advise on contracts with significant financial implications.
·       Be responsible for stock option and award accounting and oversight of equity administration.
·       Manage external audit and tax compliance work, providing outside audit team and tax preparers with requested information on a timely basis.
·       Oversee accounts payable and employee expense reporting.
·       Oversee tax, treasure and banking and insurance.

Physical Requirements:
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office environment.
Position Requirements:
·       B.S. Degree in a business related field.
·       CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
·       10 to 15 plus years in various management/leadership roles.
·       Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
·       Public company or IPO experience desired.
·       Life Sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare or health insurance industries preferred.

·       Excellent written and verbal executive communication.
·       Ability to effectively collaborate with peers in other functions and with team members in other functions.
·       Proven track record in managing growth business in complex and competitive markets.
·       Strong business acumen and use of business analytics to prioritize, lead and influence.
·       Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
